With more than three decades of experience, Mei Chau’s culinary journey spans from Chinatown to Park Slope, Brooklyn. In 1993, she and her husband opened their first café, serving a mix of French and Malaysian cuisine. After her previous restaurant closed during the pandemic, Mei opened Petite Dumpling, crafting a new concept that brings together her love for Chinese flavors, Malaysian spices, and a touch of American influence.
“Petite Dumpling isn’t strictly traditional,” Mei shared. “It’s food that I love and a flavor profile I’ve developed over the years.” Located on Brooklyn’s bustling Fifth Avenue, Petite Dumpling has quickly become a favorite spot for those searching for authentic, yet modern, dumplings in Park Slope.
