“I wanted Ondo to feel intentional,” he says. “The name itself—‘temperature’—is a nod to how much thought goes into the details, whether it’s baking the perfect croissant or making sure the café feels just right for our customers.”
Kim’s focus on quality and craftsmanship is clear in everything Ondo offers. Each pastry is made fresh on-site, and the coffee is brewed with the same level of care. Even the smallest details, like the layout of the seating, are designed to make customers feel at ease.
“It’s not just about the food,” Kim adds. “It’s about creating a moment—something people can look forward to.”
What’s Next for Ondo?
Though Ondo Bakery has only been open for a short time, Kim is already looking ahead. “We’re always experimenting,” he says. “From new pastry ideas to seasonal brunch specials, we’re constantly thinking about how to make Ondo even better.”
He’s also focused on continuing to build connections with the Ann Arbor community. “This city has been so supportive of us,” Kim shares. “We want to give back by staying creative and making Ondo a place people can rely on.”
