When Francisco Saivina first stepped into the restaurant industry, he began a journey that would eventually lead him to own and operate Fuego Cravings, one of Southern California’s most exciting and flavorful Mexican dining experiences. Starting as a young immigrant from Mexico at the age of 16, Francisco’s story is one of perseverance, vision, and a love for food that has captivated the hearts—and appetites—of countless customers.
Francisco began his culinary career working in pizza kitchens, where he gained invaluable experience in restaurant management and operations. However, it was a partnership with his close friend and talented chef, José, that set the foundation for Fuego Cravings’ success. Together, they decided to take a leap of faith, combining their expertise and passion to purchase the first Fuego Cravings location in Beaumont.
“The restaurant was already there, but José and I saw its potential,” Francisco shared. “With José’s 15 years of experience as a chef and my management background, we knew we could build something amazing.”
Fast forward four years, and Fuego Cravings has grown to seven thriving locations, with plans to expand even further through franchising. Francisco credits this success to their thoughtful approach to choosing locations and their commitment to providing exceptional quality. “We focus on areas where we can make the biggest impact. As a family-owned business, we want to ensure that every guest has a special experience,” he explained.
A Menu Full of Must-Try Dishes
For anyone visiting Fuego Cravings for the first time, Francisco’s recommendation is a no-brainer: “Start with the quesabirria.” This signature dish combines tender, slow-cooked birria with crispy, cheesy tortillas to create a fan favorite that keeps customers coming back for more.

While Fuego Cravings’ core menu has remained consistent to honor customer favorites, Francisco and his team love to innovate. At their Highland location, they introduced a sushi cocktail bar, which has been a hit with local diners.

He also emphasized the importance of maintaining strong relationships with customers, team members, and vendors alike. “We treat everyone with respect and care, and that’s something I think people feel when they visit us,” he said.
The Road Ahead
The future is bright for Fuego Cravings. With a franchise sales company now on board, Francisco is excited to grow the brand beyond California. “Our goal is to have Fuego Cravings in every state. I want to create a Mexican food empire that’s accessible to everyone,” he said with a smile.
Francisco is confident that his vision, combined with the team’s passion and dedication, will take Fuego Cravings to new heights. “We’ve accomplished so much in just four years, and I know we’re just getting started,” he added.
